PRISTINA, 12/09/2018 – The Association of Journalists of Kosovo expresses concerns for the reported cases related to work obstruction of journalists from Serbia, respectively from media in Serbian language Insajder, Deutsche Welle and Tanjug, during the visit of Serbia’s President in Kosovo last weekend.

AJK contacted Kosovo police which confirmed that after receiving information from the field they found a vehicle with Serbian registration plates that was parked near a fuel station. The location was near the protest that was being held against the visit of President of Serbia, Aleksandat Vucic. Police stated to have taken necessary measures to avoid any incidents and secured safety for all, including two journalists from Deutsche Welle that left the scene under police escort.

The three cases were not reported to Kosovo police.

AJK encourages all journalists to report incidents and cases whenever they are threatened or attacked during their work.

AJK also asks from all authorities to contribute to a safe environment and demanded to shed light in those reported cases.
