BELGRADE, 2P.09.2019. – N1 TV came under pressure once again when posters were put up in central Belgrade saying – Republic of Serbia – Goodby, N1 – Welcome to Luxembourg.

The posters were put up over the past few days in several places including on the building housing the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media (REM).

Pictures of the poster appeared on social networks, including on a Facebook page which posted things which were considered to be pressure on N1.

The posters seem to have been inspired by constant attacks by ruling coalition MPs who have been using debates in the Serbian parliament to attack N1 and other independent media.

In an appearance on N1’s Pressing talk show, ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) official Vladimir Djukanovic raised the question of how a company registered in Luxembourg could have a TV station broadcasting on cable in Serbia.

N1 TV is demanding that competent institutions condemn this form of pressure on independent media and find out who the authors of the posters are.
