The end of the Journalists Academy 2017 marked with the Handover Ceremony of Certificate

JAHORINA, 21.11.2017. – By Handover Ceremony of Certificate the Journalists Academy 2017 “Reporting on the topic of gender-based violence” was brought to end.

Students of communication and journalism, from private and public universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, 27 of them, had the opportunity in the past three days to listen to lectures by media professionals, activists and representatives of public institutions on how to report accountable about gender-based violence, which forms of violence against women and girls are most prominent in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and how this social problem is addressed through the legal framework and international standards.

The Journalists Academy in Jahorina gathered participants from Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Tuzla, Ljubuski, Visegrad, Istocno Sarajevo, Mostar, Pale and Bugojno, and was part of the project “Disarming Violence – Media against Violence against Women” implemented by  BH journalists with support from the UN Women office in BiH and the Swedish International Development and Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
