Photo reporter of the daily Pobjeda, Mara Babovic, was attacked on September 4, 2021, while she reported from the reception of the Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church Porphyry in front of the Church of Christ’s Resurrection in Podgorica. In a conversation with SMCG, Babovic explained that she was on the stage set up near the Church, with other colleagues, when one of the priests started pushing her. At the request not to touch her, the priest told her “Now you will see” and he strongly pulled her hand off the stage. During the mentioned event, Babovic wore a yellow vest marked “Press”, and she also had an accreditation.

After the event, Babovic called a contact person from the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral to report the incident, who only listened and ended the conversation.

The case was not reported to the police.
