The Independent Trade Union of BHRT, a public media service at the state level of BiH, has announced a strike due to the delay in the payment of salaries to the employees of this media. The reason for the delay in salaries is the decline in the collection of the RTV tax, which is caused by political pressures and the irresponsible behavior of the state authorities in ensuring the conditions for independent work and stable financing of the public service.

BH Journalists (BHJA) supported the demands of the Independent Trade Union of BHRT workers and their efforts to solve the problem of the difficult financial situation in which the Public Service of BiH finds itself.

In the first months of 2024, BHJA, in cooperation with EFJ, undertook a series of actions to support solving problems in the financing of public services in BiH, including discussions with trade unions and the management of BHRT and RTVFBiH.
