The news portal Ravno do dna was denied press accreditation to cover the INmusic Festival after refusing to comply with the organiser’s request to publish an additional editorial article marking the festival’s 20th anniversary as part of its accreditation application. In its communication with the newsroom, the organiser stated that publishing such an article would “significantly strengthen the application and contribute to its favourable consideration.” The editor-in-chief of the portal informed the organisers that such a requirement constituted an unacceptable interference with the editorial independence of the media and that the granting of press accreditation must not be conditioned on the publication of specific content. The organiser subsequently informed the newsroom that its accreditation request had been rejected, preventing its journalists from professionally reporting from the festival.
