Continuous and consecutive attacks (synchronized accusations, insults, pressures and targeting) on N1 television from different pro-government media that lasted continuously for several days. Among others, the most active was the Kurir newspaper, which in its daily edition from April 9th accused N1 Television and its journalists of spreading misinformation and thus endangering the lives of Serbian citizens during the Covid-19 virus pandemic, and published TV N1 editor Jugoslav Cosic with a photomontage presented as Pinocchio and titled with term “Liar”.
The attacks by the Kurir and other pro-governmental media represent a continuation of simultaneous attacks by state officials on independent journalists and the media, and attempts to establish censorship and reducing freedom of expression and information.
