Media Obstructed from Filming the meeting with Dismissed RTSH Journalists
On 17th May 2024, MP Ina Zhupa held a meeting in the Albanian Parliament with 28 journalists and operators recently dismissed from Albanian Public Television (RTSH). Despite her formal request to the Secretary General of the Parliament (protocol number 1823, dated 10.05.2024 of the letter as seen by Safe Journalists) and a public announcement of the meeting, media crews were barred from filming the hearing. Isa Myzyraj, a political reporter and head of the newly established Albanian Association of Journalists, publicly denounced this obstruction as an impediment to media coverage and transparency. The meeting was then transmitted live on the Facebook page of the MP and Myzyraj.
