The BH Journalists Association and the Free Media Help Line (FMHL) responded to the announcement by the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton, Admir Katica, that they will pass a new Law on Public Order and Peace, which will extend the jurisdiction of the police to the internet sphere and the media in the area of online attacks, hate speech and spreading disinformation. BH Journalists called on the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the KS to withdraw the proposed Draft Law because the proposed legal solutions deeply encroach on the right to freedom of expression and opinion, as well as the key values of the free operation of the media and social networks in a democratic society.

The Safejournalists network responded with a public announcement.
