The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the president of the NiP political party, Elemedin Konaković, sent verbal and political threats to two public services based in Sarajevo – RTV FBiH and BHRT, and announced the dismissal of the existing management and the election of a new “management that will work according to the dictates” of the parties gathered in the ruling the “Troika” coalition. At the press conference, Konaković unequivocally made it clear that his political involvement in solving problems in public services concerning the collection of the RTV tax has a completely different background – an attempt to impose political control and create assumptions for the work of these media in the interests of the “Troika” parties, and not in the public interest.
The BHJA responded with a statement and reminded how Minister Elmedin Konaković has targeted journalists dozens of times so far and called into question their safety and dignified work, using political manipulation and institutional pressure on the media and journalists.
