During August 2017, freelance journalist Željko Peratović received numerous of threats and hate speech via Facebook. The threats, as he claims, arrived due to his work on the stories about war crimes in Gospić area. Threats were sent from Facebook profiles of Tihomir and Ivica Oreskovic and Mladen Rogić. Along with offences, one of the authors of the threats, Mladen Rogić, wrote: “I tell you now, in fornt of everyone, when you break me, I swear to you that dear God will not save you”. Peratović reported all threats to the police on August 10 2017. The police confirmed that the case was reported.
