Woman journalist Nikolija Bjelica Škrivan from Direkt and journalist Bojan Nosović from Alternative TV Banja Luka (ATV) have been verabally attacked while trying to attend the meeting between citizens from village Bijela Rudina with mayor of the municipality, president of the assembly and a potential investor who, allegedly, wanted to construct a so-called cancer center in the vicinity of their houses. The journalists were invited to the meeting by the citizens who have been complaining for some time because of the planned construction. Three crews (ATV, Radio Bileća and Direkt) came to the meeting, but the mayor said that they could only get statements at the end of the meeting and record some scenes at the beginning of the meeting. However, when they entered the conference room, the security officer pushed journalists Bjelica Škrivan and Nosović roughly out of the room and insulted them. Only when the mayor said they could film the scenes, the security officer has let them do that.
After the meeting, the investor, Marko Manigoda, did not want to give them a statement, while he threatened to Bjelica Škrivan that he might break her phone, and covered the camera to Nosović so he could not film. When Bjelica Škrivan invited one of the participants of the meeting to give her a statement, the security officer who prevented them earlier from entering the conference room, started to insult her in a very sexist way. After that, he also insulted the journalist Nosović.
The new local government in Bileća has already blamed media for bad presentations of the municipality which has quite a lot of problems lately, believing that, if media do not report on that, the situation would improve.
