Nemanja Sarovic was detained on March 8th in Pionirski Park while reporting for KTV from a camp where individuals claiming to be “students who want to study” were gathered. First, one of the participants of the gathering poured coffee on him, and then a woman hit him on the hands and knocked the microphone out of his hand. The incident was broadcast live on KTV, and in the footage, a police officer can be seen asking him to leave Pionirski Park “due to the risk of a greater disturbance of public order and peace.” After refusing to leave the park, police officers detained him and placed him in a police car. Following the detention, Sarovic was taken by ambulance to the Emergency Center, accompanied by police, because he began to feel unwell. He was later released.
The police detained Nemanja Sarovic again on March 14th, but the reason for this detention is unknown.
On March 17th, Nemanja Sarovic was attacked near Pionirski Park in Belgrade while filming tractors that were parked there. His phone was taken from him in front of police officers, who, after the attack, turned their heads and walked away.
