    Gjirokastër / Threat due to duty, a journalist is threatened, and a 26-year-old is prosecuted. The Crime Investigation Specialists at the Gjirokastër Police Commissariat referred the case to the Prosecutor’s Office, initiating criminal proceedings against citizen K. S., 26 years old, resident of the village of Picar. On the previous day, he allegedly threatened citizen A. R., 37 years old, a resident of the village of Lazarat, a journalist, claiming that the journalist was filming him while he was in a certain area. The procedural materials were forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Gjirokastër for further action.

Journalist Armando Rabi was threatened and physically assaulted while carrying out his duty near a polling station in the Zinxhira neighborhood. According to him, he had identified himself as a media representative and was filming a suspicious situation involving public administration employees near the polling station, in violation of legal distance regulations. He was attacked by an individual accompanying a public official. We commend the State Police for their prompt intervention and swift referral of the case to the Prosecutor’s Office.
