The Croatian Journalists’ Association (CJA) demands the immediate release of our journalist colleagues and CJA members Mirjana Radulović and Branimir Slijepčević, editors of Radio Rojc, who were detained today by police in Pula at their workplace after they themselves called the police due to disturbances systematically caused by other users of the Rojc Social Center and neighboring institutions.

The CJA also demands a clear statement from the police explaining the reason for the brutal detention of our colleagues.

Today, colleague Radulović called the police to DC Rojc, where Radio Rojc has its newsroom, because the mentioned individuals continuously enter their premises and cause damage. She also repeated her request for more frequent police patrols. We remind that a year ago this radio station had valuable equipment stolen.

After a heated argument, two police officers decided to detain colleague Radulović and put handcuffs on her, causing her to resist and say she was in pain. Then colleague Slijepčević intervened, warning them not to do that as she is ill, and he was detained as well.

For the Executive Board of the CJA:

Hrvoje Zovko, President of the CJA

Chiara Bilić, Vice President of the CJA

Dragutin Hedl, Vice President of the CJA
