Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic claimed on Tuesday that N1 was targeting her but did not specify how.
“I’m not targeting anyone, you’re targeting me,” Brnabic said in response to an N1 reporter’s question about a video which misrepresents N1 on pro-regime media. Brnabic added that she doesn’t know what independent media means. “Independent does not mean you aren’t under our control, independent means you aren’t under anyone’s control,” she said.
Brnabic ignored the reporter’s comment about her claims that N1 reporters beat up people on election night and read out a list of terms used in the pro-regime media video. Those terms were used by people talking to N1 and were misused in the video to misrepresent N1.
The reporter invited Brnabic to appear on N1 and face her political rivals.
Replying to a question about Rio Tinto’s project to mine lithium in western Serbia, Brnabic said that the N1 reporter accused her of working for a private company, not the people of Serbia. “You are targeting me directly. I don’t work for a private company. I work in the interest of the citizens of the Republic of Serbia. Completely transparently,” she said.
