TV N1 journalist Jelena Mirković was in separated incident again physically attacked and hurted while reporting on the citizens’ protest near the Old Bridge in the part of the city called ´´Belgrade on the water.´´
During the blockade of Belgrade on the water organized by disgruntled citizens, there was an incident in which, according to citizens and activists, unknown men attacked the crowd and tried to break through the blockade. Although there had been previous attempts to take away her microphone and she was physically attacked, in a separate incident towards the end of the protest, one of the masked individuals from the group that was disrupting citizens and trying to break through the blockade ran past journalist Jelena, hit her hard and pushed her away, causing her to fall onto the concrete and sustain physical injuries. The journalist’s neck is immobilized, and as a result of the fall and impact, she is currently unable to work.
The police were also near the event itself, but the MUP officials did not protect the journalist and did not react to the incident itself.
The case was reported to the police and to Standing working group for the journalists safety.
