Journalists from Zenica will be boycotting the ceremonial session of the City Council of Zenica, scheduled for 20.03.2025., because of the complete closure of the local government and prohibition to all the media from Zenica to follow the Council sessions. In a letter sent to the president of the City Council and to the councilors, the journalists wonder how it is possible for them to be invited to the ceremonial session when all other sessions where issues of public interest were discussed were completely closed for them.
In this letter, journalists from Zenica reminded city councilors that they have reacted publicly several times, asking for respect of the Statute of the City of Zenica which implies to all the journalists working in Zenica to follow the City Council sessions a right which was denied to them. Since local elections 2024, the City Council held five regular sessions. All the journalists were forbidden from attending them, except for the journalists from RTV Zenica which was founded by the City Council.
