The mayor of Srebrenica, Mladen Grujičić, called retired journalist Marinko Sekulić on the phone in the evening and on that occasion cursed his mother, threatening to “remember him”, and continued to harass the journalist for several hours by sending him inappropriate viber messages and primitive insults. Sekulić assumes that the mayor of Srebrenica reacted with curses and threats after this journalist shared an article on Facebook from one of the portals in which Grujičić and his family life are mentioned. Considering the seriousness of the threats, Sekulić immediately informed the police and asked for protection due to the profanity and threats he sent to the retired journalist Marinko Sekulić.
The BHJA Steering Committee condemned the threats against journalist Sekulić, emphasizing that in this case it is a “gross threat to the safety of Marinko Sekulić”. Grujučić is a holder of public office who, with unprovoked, verbal violence towards Sekulić, can influence the behavior of his followers towards this journalist who lives with his family in Srebrenica.
