On 29 May 2024, Arber Hitaj, TV presenter of Studio Live and head of the Association of European Journalists, Albanian section (AEJ Albania) was verbally attacked by Silvi Bardhi, spokesperson for the Democratic Party National Council, at a press conference in Tirana. During the press conference, Bardhi discredited AEJ Albania and Hitaj and his father, stating that their support for the journalists was guided by corruption because of their alleged work or influenced by the current government.
