The Association of Journalists of Kosovo (AJK) has received with concern the defamatory campaign directed against the Serbian-language radio station, Radio Gorazhdeci (Goraždevac), based in the municipality of Peja.
According to reports, a portal named SrpskiGlas.rs published an article calling for a boycott of this media outlet, claiming that they are “serving independent Kosovo.”
The Editor-in-Chief of Radio Gorazhdeci, Darko Dimitrijević, stated that the media outlet he leads has always operated professionally, objectively, and in full compliance with the laws and the Code of Ethics of Journalism.
“This attack on our work is not only an attempt at defamation but also a serious threat to safety, as such targeting could pose a real danger to everyone working at Radio Gorazhdeci, especially when traveling to Belgrade or other cities,” Dimitrijević said.
AJK strongly condemns this form of targeting and the subsequent threats that endanger the physical safety of the journalists working at this media outlet.
Journalists must be allowed to carry out their work without interference and without fear.
