Journalist Jelena Jovanović from “Vijesti” reported M.K. to the police on June 20 due to threats made during her reporting on a murder that took place in Cetinje. Namely, M.K. is the brother of one of the victims and demanded to know if Jelena Jovanović was present, stating that she was next because she had “painted a target” on his brother. The journalist, given the nature of the threats, felt endangered.

The Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Cetinje has opened a case regarding the incident, where Jovanović was questioned as a witness. The case files were submitted by officers from the Cetinje Security Department to the prosecutor for review and decision.
