A crew of Kanal10 television, consisting of journalist Naim Kryeziu and cameraman Fatos Rakovica, were prevented from carrying out their reporting duties by the director of the “Bajram Curri” School in Fushë Kosova, Fidan Hasani.
Journalist Kryeziu and cameraman Rakovica were physically and verbally prevented by the school director, during their attempt to report on the lack of heating in this educational institution.
Obstructing the work of journalists, especially when they are dealing with topics of public interest, constitutes a serious violation of freedom of the media and the right of citizens to be informed.
Such behaviors are in direct opposition to democratic standards and values that must be respected by public officials.
AJK calls on the officials of public institutions to be cooperative and to respect the work of journalists.
