PODGORICA, 15.07.2020. – The Ministry of the Interior has accepted the recommendation of the Council for Civil Control of the Police to provide media workers with fluorescent vests marked “press” when reporting from public gatherings, the Council announced.
Such a recommendation followed a meeting of the Council for Civilian Control of Police Work with representatives of the Trade Union of Media of Montenegro, the Association of Professional Journalists of Montenegro and the Center for Civic Education, which recognized the need to reintroduce this practice.
In 2015, the Ministry of Interior of Montenegro also accepted the recommendation of the Council and distributed these vests.
“The recommendation of civil police supervision was accepted without delay, the procurement procedure was carried out and their distribution is in progress in communication with the Association of Professional Journalists of Montenegro, the Trade Union of Media of Montenegro and the Council for Civil Control of Police Work,” reads the statement.
