Maja Sever filmed the usurpation of the coast and the devastation of maritime property on the island of Tijat, not far from Šibenik. People who consider the bay to be theirs, even though they are not the owners in the land register, have opened a luxury restaurant, built facilities and have been managing them for years. Index.hr asked Maja Sever to photograph the arrival of the police and inspectors, which some did not like. A man, who was recognized as the owner of the restaurant, approached Sever, shouted at her, insulted her, demanded that she delete the recordings from her mobile phone, and then took her mobile phone. Sever told index.hr what it looked like: “The police explained to them that I was allowed to take photos there and I introduced myself as a journalist, I said that I was in contact with my colleagues, but they were not interested in that.” He shouted ‘delete the pictures’, he took the mobile phone, it was embarrassing. Fortunately, the police were there”.
