The Decree of RS President Zeljka Cvijanovic, which prohibits “the publishing or transmission of fake news or allegations that cause panic or seriously violate public order or peace through the media, social networks or other similar media”, was declared. At the same time, the Government of the Federation of BiH, through the Ministry of Interior and cybercrime units, some time ago began to apply measures to monitor and control information disseminated through social networks, within which five criminal proceedings were initiated for allegedly spreading false information and panic.
UPDATE: After a strong pressure from the media community, NGOs and the public, the disputed regulations and measures have been withdrawn.
