On 11 September 2025, journalist Lorena Resulaj and cameraman Nertil Mataj were physically assaulted and threatened while on duty in Tirana.

According to police reports, the two media workers were covering a story at a bar on “Islam Alla” street when the owner, a 34-year-old man identified as E. D., allegedly threatened and punched them. The incident occurred after the journalist and cameraman refused to leave the premises while reporting.

The suspect was arrested by police shortly after the attack.

Both Resulaj and Mataj were carrying out their professional duties when they were subjected to intimidation and physical violence, directly obstructing their work.
