On November 6, the Bijelo Polje Police submitted a criminal complaint to the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office (ODT) in Bijelo Polje against Radojko Filipović, on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of endangering the safety of journalist Alisa Hajdarpašić.
According to the complaint, on November 4, Filipović threatened the life and physical safety of the victim via the social network Facebook. “Specifically, in response to an article published on the portal Vijesti iz Bijelog Polja, concerning the reporting of journalist A.H., then a correspondent for TV Vijesti, he posted a comment containing words of threat directed at her, which caused the victim to feel fear and insecurity,” the Bijelo Polje Prosecutor’s Office stated. The on-duty prosecutor ordered Filipović’s detention for up to 72 hours. An indictment proposal was filed against Filipović on suspicion that he committed an aggravated form of the criminal offence of endangering security (Article 168, paragraphs 4 and 1 of the Criminal Code). The prosecutor also proposed that Filipović be remanded in custody, which the Basic Court rejected; however, the Court imposed supervision measures on Filipović, including a ban on leaving the territory of the Municipality of Bijelo Polje, an obligation to report periodically to the police, and a restraining order prohibiting him from approaching the journalist. The trial is scheduled to begin on 4 March.
