On 12 June 2026, lawyer Mirnes Ajanović filed a defamation lawsuit against the BH Journalists Association before the Municipal Court in Tuzla, following the association’s public statement condemning his denigration and discrediting of investigative journalists Anisa Mahmutović and Adis Mujdanović.

In response, the European Federation of Journalists (EFJ) expressed its full solidarity with the BH Journalists Association and the two journalists, and notified the Council of Europe Platform for the Safety of Journalists and the Media Freedom Rapid Response (MFRR). The EFJ and both platforms will continue to monitor developments related to this case.
