Threats targeted Slavisa Lekic, a journalist and president of the Independent Journalists Association of Serbia, on Thursday, October 12, 2017 when Lekic’s father received a phone call by an unidentified person. After the person asked – “Do you know what your Slavisa is doing and writing?”, he started with insults, followed by threats to “kill Slavisa and kill him”. He repeated several times that he would “wipe them off the face of the earth”. On October 16, 2017 a phone call came from the same number but as soon as Lekic’s father raised headphone, the call ended.
