President’s Daughters Not Filmed; Prosecutor Says Public Footage No Offense

The news portal Paparaci has published footage filmed on Wednesday near the private school attended by President Vjosa Osmani’s two daughters.

The broadcasted footage shows no children, including the President’s daughters. It only depicts two vehicles belonging to President Osmani’s close protection unit, one of them armored.

The filming by cameraman Jetmir Muji was conducted from the street, in a public space. This was also confirmed by the prosecutor handling the case, Rrahim Podvorica, who ordered Muji’s release.

“When I was informed, the situation was explained to me. I was told there was no criminal offense, since the recording was made in a public place. Under those circumstances, I instructed that the individual be released. At the time, there were no elements to open a case, nor any elements of a criminal offense,” Podvorica told KALLXO.com.

The Association of Journalists of Kosovo (AJK) condemns the unlawful several-hour detention of Muji by the Kosovo Police and will request an investigation by the Police Inspectorate of Kosovo.

AJK also strongly condemns the attacks made by President Osmani and the First Gentleman, Prindon Sadriu, against the media following the reporting of this case.
