On 14 July 2026, News24 journalist Marsel Rupi was physically pushed by Member of Parliament Erion Braçe while attempting to ask him a question outside the entrance to the Presidency of the Albanian Parliament in Tirana.

According to publicly available video footage, Rupi approached the MP in his capacity as a journalist and attempted to address a question to him. Braçe responded by making physical contact with the journalist and pushing him away, thereby preventing him from continuing his professional work. No physical injury was reported.

The Association of Journalists of Albania publicly condemned the incident, describing any physical contact, intimidation or obstruction of journalists while performing their duties as unacceptable.
