On July 25, the journalist of the workers’ newspaper Kolubara, Dragoljub Đorđevic, was first taken aside by the police in Lazarevac, legitimized, and then detained and detained overnight by the police for his alleged participation in the highway blockade.
Đorđević spent the night in custody, and according to what he learned from the misdemeanor judge, before whom he gave a statement on Saturday morning, he is charged with a more severe form of violation of traffic regulations. Journalist Đorđević was taken into custody by a policeman on the basis of a verbal order from a member of the Gendarmerie who asked the policeman to detain “that person”. At no time was Đorđević on the highway itself, but he filmed the blockade and the police action with his phone from the grassy area behind the embankment and outside the highway.
A misdemeanor proceeding is now being conducted against the journalist, and the procedure for gathering information and notifications about the event is ongoing.
