In Novi Pazar, while reporting from the protest, the A1 portal team, two journalists and a cameraman, were subjected to prolonged detention and a detailed search of their equipment and personal belongings by the police, which prevented them from continuing their reporting in real time.

Despite their clearly displayed press IDs and journalist vests, the police detained them “for a detailed check”, and one journalist was detained because she did not have an ID card, although she clearly identified herself as a journalist. The incident was recorded on video and published by the A1 portal editorial office.

NUNS will report the case to the competent public prosecutor’s office and the Internal Affairs Sector of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
