A man attacked an N1 crew that was filming an area near the Serbian National Assembly and the so-called “Ćacilend.” The attack occurred on November 20, 2025, at around 14:20, near the new roundabout close to the bus stop.
An unknown man approached the TV N1 crew, demanded that they stop filming, and shortly afterward grabbed the camera, throwing it onto the road several times and severely damaging it.
The police, who were nearby, did not react to the incident and approached only after being called by the N1 journalist.
N1 cameraman Ivan Pavlović and journalist Maja Nikolić were attacked while preparing a report for our television program.
After failing to react immediately, members of the Intervention Police Unit called plainclothes inspectors, who informed the competent public prosecutor’s office, which initially refused to order further action. After additional pressure and the involvement of on-duty prosecutors and media focal points, the public prosecutor ordered the crime scene investigation. The police arrived at the scene of the attack on the journalists at 15:40—an hour and 20 minutes after the incident occurred.
Cameraman Ivan Pavlović told TV N1 that they were filming a report when they saw a larger group coming from Ćacilend.
“They walked past us, and I turned the camera toward the checkpoint. One of them came back, approached me from behind, grabbed the camera out of my hands, and threw it on the ground twice. Then they ran away. Everything happened in plain sight of the police, who were standing 20 meters away from us and watching. My colleague Maja was traumatized—I mean, these are horrifying situations,” the cameraman said. The police officers then began “slowly and cautiously approaching,” while the men fled.
