FoNet agency reporter Marko Čonjagić was physically attacked on November 3 around 11 pm in Kosovska Street in Belgrade while reporting from a rally in support of Dijana Hrka.

According to the testimonies of colleagues and citizens, four men (three masked) tried to drag him into the fenced area, and then knocked him down and kicked him. Marko was wearing clear signs that he was a journalist, among other things he was wearing a fluorescent vest with the inscription “press”.

Despite the calls of the citizens and the address of the attacked to the police officers, a timely and adequate police reaction did not follow. The plainclothes policemen who were present told our colleague that he had to go to the Stari grad police station to report the incident because they were there for another reason, which he eventually did.

The journalist reported the case to the competent public prosecutor’s office.
