On 2 July 2026, Top News journalist Keida Muka and the camera operator accompanying her were obstructed and attacked while reporting live from the regular protest near the Prime Minister’s Office in Tirana. According to published video reports, while Muka was speaking live on air, some protesters approached the media team, pushed her, splashed her with water, and shouted at the team to leave, using calls such as “Ikni” and “Zhdukuni.” The incident did not occur as part of a wider violent confrontation at that moment, but as a targeted act of hostility and obstruction against an identifiable media team carrying out its professional duties.

The incident took place amid the wider Flamingo Revolution protests, which began after public opposition to the planned development in the Zvërnec/Narta protected coastal area and later expanded into broader anti-government and accountability demands. Earlier, on 2 July, there had been clashes near the Albanian Parliament between protesters and police, but this specific incident occurred later during the regular protest near the Prime Minister’s Office.
