The editor-in-chief of Beta News Agency, Vojkan Kostić, while reporting as a journalist from the search of the apartment of military analyst Aleksandar Radić on 06.22. In 2026, he was summoned to report to the Criminal Police Directorate due to suspicion of activities linked to the alleged preparation of acts against the constitutional order and security of Serbia.
Kostić found himself on the spot and was performing a journalistic task because he was accompanying military analyst Aleksandar Radić, who some time before was invited to attend the search of his apartment on suspicion of the crime of preparing the violent overthrow of the constitutional order. Kostić was with Radić when the police called him to come to the apartment. After arriving at the scene, Kostić continued to report on the event of public interest, which is why he was served with the summons.
The members of the police were very unpleasant towards Kostić at first, with messages that he understood as intimidation and a warning that, if he continued to report, he himself could be suspected of a criminal offense.
Such behavior represents unacceptable pressure on journalists who report on events of public importance.
