BH Telecom removed the Hayat television channels (channel group) from its service offering, due to an unresolved legal dispute concerning exclusive signal distribution rights. BH Telecom’s decision has sparked numerous reactions from the public, media associations and political representatives in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In its public reaction, the BH Journalists Association emphasized that discrimination against media outlets on political, commercial, or similar grounds is unacceptable. Such actions, the BHJA stated, undermine public trust in the media landscape, hinder citizens’ access to diverse sources of information that are of general public interest, and further financially destabilize media organizations.
Update: After more than two weeks, the dispute was resolved and BH Telecom restored Hayat and other domestic TV channels to the programming lineup of its Moja TV platform.
