On 23 January 2024, journalist Klodiana Lala, who’s working for News24 TV, was verbally attacked by Former Prime Minister Berisha. The incident happened in front of the Special Courts against Corruption and Organised Crime (SPAK) where he appeared for the first time in the Special Prosecutor’s Office to be questioned. Under a “home arrest” security measure since 30 December 2023, Berisha is being investigated for “passive corruption” regarding the privatization of the former Partizani complex. He was interviewed by a group of journalists when he refused to answer Klodiana Lala’s questions. The video footage shows Berisha accusing the investigative journalist Lala of acting as “the spokesperson for his political adversaries”, declaring he remains unyielding to the queries from his political opponents and journalist Lala.
