The report shows that journalists’ safety in Kosovo remains a serious issue. In January–May 2026, 9 attacks and threats were recorded, equal to the total for 2025. Similar incidents have persisted over the last five years. Cases included physical attacks, threats, obstruction, online harassment, and coordinated campaigns, with women journalists particularly targeted. Only a few cases led to indictments, while many remain under investigation. The report also highlights weak institutional response and lack of consistent reactions from authorities, which contributes to a hostile environment for media freedom.
