The President of the Municipality of Pljevlja, Dario Vraneš, sent an offensive and sexist comment to the director of the Center for Investigative Journalism, Milka Tadić Mijović, via the social network Instagram on December 4.

Commenting on Tadić Mijović’s statement in the article on Vijesti, he wrote on Instagram: “Tell us, old mother, art thou witch? Witch I am: why should I hide”

After public condemnation, Vraneš said that he respects “all members of the fairer sex regardless of their political affiliation” and emphasized that his response to Tadić Mijović was “purely political, not personal in nature.”

In January 2026, the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Pljevlja filed a request to initiate misdemeanor proceedings against Vraneš for a violation of the Law on the Prohibition of Discrimination.

On 19 March, the Misdemeanour Court in Bijelo Polje, Pljevlja division, found Vraneš guilty of an offence under the Law on Prohibition of Discrimination and fined him €500.
