The Council of Europe put on its platform on media freedom the case of the attack on the N1 television team, which took place in Montenegro on September 5, 2021, while reporting from the protest in Cetinje against the enthronement of Metropolitan Joanikije Micovic.
The N1 team and reporter Aleksandra Tolj Ruzic were attacked while covering the protest. A group of young men poured water on them and threw stones at them, while they tried to do their job professionally.
Somewhat later that day, Ruzic was surrounded by a small group of demonstrators and harassed while she was reporting live, talking to the host in the N1 studio.
N1 television condemned the attack on its employees, while the SafeJournalists Network called on the police to identify and detain those responsible.
