    Bulqizë / Preliminary Information At around 02:58 on 26.04.2026, Police services were notified by citizen S. C., a resident of Bulqizë (profession: journalist), that his Ford Fiesta vehicle had caught fire while parked near his residence. Immediately after receiving the notification, Police services, the investigative team, and the fire service went to the scene. The investigative team, under the direction of the Prosecution, is continuing intensive actions to clarify and legally document the case, identify and bring the perpetrator(s) before justice, as there is preliminary suspicion of intentional arson. The case materials will be forwarded to the Prosecution for further action.

 A serious incident was reported in the early morning hours in Bulqizë, where the car of journalist Sami Curri was engulfed in flames and almost completely destroyed. According to preliminary information, the vehicle was parked about 30 meters from his residence, and the fire was noticed around 02:45, after local residents alerted the fire services. No injuries or damage to nearby property have been reported.

The circumstances of the incident remain unclear, and intentional arson has not been ruled out. The journalist considers the incident a possible message related to his professional work, which focuses on reporting on public procurement and monitoring local authorities and the justice system in the Dibër region.
