The BHJA Steering Committee strongly condemns the safety endangering and threats to Marko Radoja, the editor of the Public Broadcasting Service of BiH, which were sent directly to him, by e- mail or published in comments on Facebook and news portals. Threats followed after Radoja, as the editor of informativ program of BHT, requested from the BHT information hosts that on July 11, they do not wear the Srebrenica Flower, a symbol of memory of the victims of genocide and the death of more than 8,000 Bosniaks in July 1995.

The BHJA Steering Committee considers that it is unacceptable to put threats to life, to invoke violence or to use improper speech, regardless of whether or not the citizens and the public in Bosnia and Herzegovina agree or not with the decision that was bought by Radoja. Such behaviors represent criminal offenses, which is why the police must urgently investigate threats and undertake legal sanctions.

on Friday, 13 July, the BHJA Steering Committee  officially requested the Federal Police Administration to conduct an effective investigation into this case and punish those who posed threats.

At the same time, members of the BHJA Steering Committee  call on BHRT’s management and administration to carefully consider the decision of the editor of the informative program and, in accordance with existing legal regulations and the BHRT Editorial Principles, take the necessary measures to strengthen the public role, responsibility and work of PBS in the interest of all citizens BiH.
