    Public prosecutor The first Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade rejected criminal complaint of journalists. 28.12.2017. - The Higher Public Prosecutor’s office in Belgrade upheld the journalist's objection. The case was returned to the First Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in order to take all necessary evidence to complete the finding of fact and make a public prosecutor's decision. 27.04.2018. - The Prosecutor's Office for the second time issued a decision dismissing a criminal complaint.
    Public prosecutor First Basic Prosecutor’s office in Belgrade dismisses a criminal charges. In justification among other things stated that by taking journalists out of the mass a larger incident was prevented, including their “lynch” and serious bodily harm of the event participants. It also stated that individuals who participated in it “behaved politely, had not threatened anyone but kept appealing to stop with provocations”. The injured submitted an objection to the immediately higher public prosecutor.

    What was journalists' association reaction IJAS condemned the assault and obstruction of journalists during events related to the inauguration of the new President of the Republic of Serbia. IJAS protested against inappropriate conduct of the police.

    Journalist of newspaper Danas Lidija Valtner was attacked in front of the Parliament while she was taking the statement from a protester against President Aleksandar Vucic. While she was talking with the protester, two big guys in black shirts appeared and started dragging him away from the Parliament. When she tried to film the incident, an activist of the Serbian Progressive Party approached her and tried to take her mobile phone away. As she said, she and the protester were removed from the area in front of the Parliament and dragged to a park nearby where they were approached by a policeman in civilian clothes.
