On Thursday, October 3, 2024, journalists covering parliamentary developments were physically obstructed and pushed by the Republic Guard and Assembly staff, preventing them from following the events outside the plenary hall.
Journalists were also denied access to the session, as the usual entrance was locked and inaccessible according to reports in the ground. Despite regulations guaranteeing media access, this is a recurring issue, with previous promises to prevent such incidents going unfulfilled. Currently, the Albanian Parliament is experiencing significant tension and controversy, particularly related to the actions of opposition members.
