On Friday, April 26, 2024, the Croatian Journalists’ Association held a press conference in connection with the announcements of the leaders of the “Domovinski pokret” about revising or canceling the financing of the weekly newspaper Novosti and their attacks on other impartial media. After the conference, the CJA received a series of insulting and threatening messages via email, which stated, among other things, that the CJA would be responsible for the press release, and the president of the CJA was called insulting words.
Hrvoje Zovko, president of the Croatian Journalists’ Association, has also received a series of insults and threats through his personal social media accounts.
