    Public prosecutor The First Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade rejected criminal complaint of journalists. 28.12.2017. - The Higher Public Prosecutor’s office in Belgrade upheld the journalist's objection. The case was returned to the First Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in order to take all necessary evidence to complete the finding of fact and make a public prosecutor's decision. 27.04.2018. - The Prosecutor's Office for the second time issued a decision dismissing a criminal complaint.
    Public prosecutor First Basic Prosecutor’s office in Belgrade dismisses a criminal charges. In justification among other things stated that by taking journalists out of the mass a larger incident was prevented, including their “lynch” and serious bodily harm of the event participants. It also stated that individuals who participated in it “behaved politely, had not threatened anyone but kept appealing to stop with provocations”.

    What was journalists' association reaction IJAS condemned the assault and obstruction of journalists during events related to the inauguration of the new President of the Republic of Serbia. IJAS protested against inappropriate conduct of the police.

    Insajder and Vice journalists were verbally attacked and insulted when they tried to photograph an incident in front of the Serbian Parliament during President Vucic’s inauguration. The group of people surrounded journalists and threatened them with physical violence if they continued their work. One of the members of the group said to journalists: “None of this can go public”. When the journalists replied that they are doing their job and that they will seek the protection of the police, another member of the group said: “the police will not help you.” After the journalists complained to the police and expressed concerns for their safety, the police told them to use a different route to return in front of the National Assembly.
