During March 2020, ZËRI newspaper fired more than twenty journalists, redactors and other media workers.
Among the dismissed are three journalists and one editor and, while according to our colleagues, two of the journalists are pregnant.
They were informed about the discontinuation of their employment via email sent by the director of ZËRI newspaper, which in public opinion has been interpreted as a violation of the Labor Law, specifically provisions that are provide for the termination of employment.
Association of Journalists of Kosovo – AJK reacted publicly for this way of acting by the media and has been described as inappropriate treatment for the community of journalists.
